A Living Tradition
“The hammam is not somewhere you go to be clean. It is somewhere you go to come home to yourself.”
For over a thousand years, Moroccan women have gathered in steam-filled rooms scented with rose, eucalyptus and orange blossom. They scrub, they pray, they laugh, they share stories. MaisonZée was born to carry that ritual forward — with the same ingredients, the same hands, and the same patience as the grandmothers who taught us.

Chapter One · The Origin
Born in the Atlas Mountains.
Our story begins at altitude. In the foothills of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, the argan tree grows where almost nothing else can — its roots reach deep into rust-coloured earth, its branches twist toward a sun that does not rest.
For the Berber women who live alongside it, the argan tree is a relative. Its fruit becomes oil. Its oil becomes ritual. And that ritual, passed mother to daughter for a thousand years, is what we bottle and bring to you.

Chapter Two · The Hammam
Steam, stone,
& stories.
In Morocco, the hammam is the village heart. Domed ceilings drip with eucalyptus steam. Women lie on warm marble while another woman’s hands scrub away the week. Babies are washed beside grandmothers. Brides are prepared. Grief is rinsed away. It is, above all, a place of softness — and of being seen.
We built MaisonZée to bring that softness home.
Chapter Three · The Ingredients
Four ingredients. One thousand years.
Every product begins with raw materials sourced directly from women-led cooperatives across Morocco. No middlemen. No shortcuts. Nothing your great-grandmother would not recognise.
01 · Argan Oil
Liquid gold of the Atlas
Cold-pressed from the kernels of the argan tree. Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Restores, softens, and gives skin its quiet glow.
02 · Ghassoul Clay
Mineral clay of Moulouya
Mined for centuries from a single valley in the Atlas. Draws out impurities while leaving the skin’s natural oils intact — gentler than any modern cleanser.
03 · Beldi Black Soap
Olives, slow-fermented
Made from crushed olives and olive oil, aged until soft and almost edible. Softens skin in minutes — the foundation of every hammam ritual.
04 · Kessa Glove
Hand-woven exfoliant
A traditional woven mitt used to lift away dead skin after the black soap has done its work. The result: skin that feels brand new.
Chapter Four · The Women
The hands behind every jar.
Every ingredient in a MaisonZée jar passes through the hands of women we know by name. The argan oil is pressed by a cooperative outside Essaouira. The ghassoul is mined in Moulouya. The kessa gloves are woven in a small workshop in Marrakech.
We pay them directly, and we pay them fairly. Their work is not outsourced or industrialised. It is craft — the kind that takes a lifetime to learn and a single jar to honour.
“Every jar carries the work of a woman whose name we know.”
